The Ninja 650 features a high-tensile steel double-pipe perimeter frame with a backbone-style seat rail that offers a low seat height and a narrow footpeg placement for comfort and an easy reach to the ground. The Ninja 650 is powered by a 649cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, eight-valve fuelinjected parallel-twin engine that delivers such smooth and responsive performance at the low- to medium-rpm range, that its been used on race-winning flat track and Isle of Man TT motorcycles. The triangular setup of the crankshaft and transmission shafts make this engine dimensionally compact front-to-back, contributing to the narrow feel of the bike and readily available, quick-revving power on city highways as well as twisty roads.
