Is Motorcycle Leasing Right For You

For some riders leasing a motorcycle is the right thing to do. For others, leasing their motorcycle is not something they should consider. What makes motorcycle leasing the best option for some and not for others?

If you are someone who wants the newest features on a motorcycle then leasing could be your best bet. When you lease a motorcycle you will be able to get the newest upgrades available more often than if you were to buy your motorcycle. Since your motorcycle lease has a start date and an end date to it, when your motorcycle lease is up, you will be free to get another bike with all of the latest features on it. The newest safety features, the newest styling, the newest improvements available. When your lease term is expired, you won't have to worry about trying to sell your motorcycle, simply turn it back in and choose your next motorcycle. If, at the end of your lease term, you would prefer to buy the motorcycle you've been leasing, you can do so at the predetermined price set at the time of your lease origination.

If you are someone who likes to ride a motorcycle with custom features and engine modifications, you probably should not lease a motorcycle. Your motorcycle lease will clearly state what you can do and what you can't do to modify the motorcycle you are leasing. If you are someone that tends to buy a motorcycle and tire of it within a couple of months, you should not lease. In these situations you should buy your motorcycle rather than lease.

If you like lower payments, you should consider leasing. When you lease a motorcycle, you will only pay for the amount of the motorcycle you use. By that we mean that at the end of your lease term, a motorcycle will have a value set that it is worth. So rather than pay for the entire motorcycle, you will only pay for the amount of the value of that bike you use. If at the end of your lease you want to buy the motorcycle you can, and you will pay for the amount of the bike's value that remains. At this point you will be free to sell it or to customize it any way that you want since the motorcycle will be yours. When you are leasing a motorcycle, it still belongs to someone else and therefore you are not free to sell it or do anything with it outside of your lease agreement.
